Yellowstone Spin-off Dutton Ranch Will Reportedly Debut This Fall
The Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser spin-off series might just be further along than we thought.
When the Dutton family’s story ended following the Yellowstone season 5 finale, several reports claimed that stars Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser were set to appear in the first sequel spin-off for Paramount.
Honestly, there was zero chance that Kevin Costner’s exit from the popular Western also meant the end of the franchise. But as I discussed in our full breakdown of all the spin-offs currently in development, Paramount has yet to unveil its roadmap for the future of Yellowstone.
And yet, according to a new report from Bloomberg, Paramount co-CEO Chris McCarthy and Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan are preparing to release the Beth Dutton (Reilly) and Rip Wheeler (Hauser) spin-off later this fall. The series is tentatively titled Dutton Ranch and will stream exclusively on Paramount+.
There’s no word yet as to how Dutton Ranch will continue the Dutton family story. At the end of Yellowstone season 5, Kayce (Luke Grimes) helped Beth and Rip save the family ranch by selling it to Thomas Rainwater (Gil Birmingham). Though Kayce remains on the ranch with his family, Beth and Rip planned to move their ranching careers to a smaller estate near Dillon, Montana. Plus, Paramount has yet to officially confirm the latest news.
Sheridan is also prepping a spin-off on CBS starring Grimes, with is reportedly due out in 2026. Other spin-offs—The Madison and 1944—are currently in production as well.
In December, Reilly confirmed the spin-off on her own Instagram page. When a fan asked about the rumors surrounding the spin-off series, she wrote, “true 🤍.”
Meanwhile, Hauser told People that “America has spoken and they still love the show.” Teasing what may come next, the actor stated, “Hopefully, we can continue to get in people’s living rooms and entertain them the way we have over the last seven years.” It looks like Hauser will have that chance with Dutton Ranch, and soon!
