Fans Rage Over Mama June’s ‘Fake Friend’ Money Grab

For quite some time, Mama June Shannon has done horrible and odd things to get money. She stole her kids’ cash to fund her addiction, and left Alana ‘Honey Boo Boo’ Thompson short of her tuition. June never seemed to have any real remorse for what she had done. At times, she felt that she provided the best that she could, but not everyone saw it that way. She has also been known as a hustler, promoting everything and anything she could on social media. This has garnered her deals and revenue, but her latest act has fans up in arms.

She has taken to social media in an attempt to create a subscriber-based group where the people get to know her up close and personal. Mama June has referred to them as her “besties” and claims she wants to learn more about her fans in a deeper way. This could be via text or group chat, but followers were not thrilled with how she wants money for friendship. As of now, a monthly subscription is $4.99, which is not crazy for someone like June. However, it is too much for people to want to be her “fake friend.”

Immediately, fans asked why they had to pay to be her friend. Moreover, they were sickened at her cash grab, saying this:

  • lol lol won’t be paying anyone to be my friend lol
  • This is nothing more than a money making scheme. WTF. June doesn’t want to get to know you. Think people, think.
  • I don’t understand why we do have subscribe so they can make money. I don’t subscribe to anything especially they do the same on IG.
