Mama June’s oldest daughter, the late Anna Cardwell’s two daughters, Kaitlyn and Kylee, got together after a custody battle separated them. When she passed away in 2023, her ex-husband, Michael, took Kylee away after June. He is her biological father, so the court awarded him full custody.

Michael married again shortly after Anna’s demise and moved to Alabama with his new wife, London, and Kylee. This made June weep and warn him that it was a wrong move. During an episode of Family Crisis Season 7, Mama June admitted to the screen that Anna wished Kaitlyn to stay with her and her aunts. By no means did the late mother of two wish Michael to snatch her two girls from them. She knew that he would definitely be selfish about his own daughter, making it difficult for her to contact June in Georgia.

June announced victory in the custody battle of Kaitlyn, saying she is now her legal guardian. She was in tears while acknowledging that the court’s verdict meant a lot to her. She never imagined seeing a wholesome day. The WeTV star took her granddaughter, Eldridge, Pumpkin, and Justin to a restaurant for a feast at lunchtime to celebrate. Similar to her emotions, Kaitlyn said she was also relieved.

After a year or two of struggles, the couple finally reunited the siblings who had been parted due to June’s brawl with Michael.

Not only Michael, but also his wife, London, and his mom created tension with June. Even Alana’s mom accused them of separating the kids. But then, London alleged that it’s because of June that Kylee could no longer see Kaitlyn. According to her, June has left no doors open for them to get in touch after their visit to Georgia.

More than once, June seemed to ignore Kylee’s calls and messages, and even London revealed that emails were sent to her late mom’s family to resolve the matter. However, no response ever came, so every attempt of theirs failed miserably. Now that fans have witnessed Kylee and Kaitlyn loving their new family and life, it has made them emotional.
