Amy Duggar Shared Something She Wanted Her Son To Avoid
Viewers were introduced to members of the Duggar family, led by Jim Bob and Michelle, through the TLC series, 19 Kids and Counting. Originally known as 17 Kids and Counting, the series originally ran from 2008 to 2015.
Amy is the daughter of Deanna Lee Duggar, Jim Bob’s sister. On their TLC show, Amy was often seen as a more rebellious foil to her cousins. In recent years, she has become known for distancing herself from Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar and her cousins, both due to lifestyle and scandal.
During a recent share on her Instagram Stories, Amy was critical of Disneyland, sharing that she wasn’t planning on taking her son to the park anytime soon. At the time, she wrote, “Unpopular opinion: Dillion and I won’t be taking our son to any Disney resort. I believe the entire Disney company is pushing an agenda on our children. To each their own, but nobody can convince me otherwise.”
Amy noted that she doesn’t support Disney “as a whole,” adding that this was something they decided on before “the ‘files’ came out.” She added, “This isn’t about pretending we live under a rock. I’m just not asleep and I’m paying close attention to what’s being fed to my child. And Dillon agrees!”
Amy’s Cousins Had Just Shared A Post Concerning Their Own Family Trip
Amy also noted, “This isn’t an attack on your family. It’s just a boundary in ours. If you don’t agree, we can still be cordial and still co-exist.”
However, something made the share somewhat notable. This was just hours after two of her cousins had posted photos on social media of their own family trip to the California park. These were Jinger Duggar Vuolo and Joy Duggar Forsyth.
As noted by The Ashley’s Reality Roundup, Amy has since been the subject of backlash over the timing of her post. Some wondered if the post was intentionally meant to shade Amy’s cousins.
The outlet noted that Amy had later shared that she did not intend to shade her cousins with the post. It is then believed that she eventually deleted the posts soon after.
For her part, Amy hasn’t specifically spoken about her individual relationships with Joy and Jinger. However, during recent interviews to promote her book, Holy Disrupter, she admitted that she hasn’t spoken to certain members of her family. Reportedly, this includes many of her Duggar cousins in recent years, as well as Jim Bob and Michelle. However, it’s believed that she still has a relationship with her cousin, Jill.
