Fans Blindsided By Brandon Sklenar’s Big News: What He Is Doing After ‘1923’ Season 2
Now that 1923 has come to a close, audiences can look out for Spencer Dutton actor Brandon Sklenar in other upcoming projects. Brandon Sklenar’s best movies and shows include popular feature films like Emily the Criminal, Vice, Midway, and the controversial 2024 film It Ends With Us. On television, he has appeared in series like New Girl and Westworld, outside his tenure in the Yellowstone franchise. 1923 is undoubtedly his most prominent role yet, showing off his talents as a compelling leading man in a way nothing else has so far in his career.
Brandon Sklenar recently shared his thoughts on the series’ emotional conclusion and responded to circulating rumors about him potentially donning the iconic Batman cape.
Emotional Farewell to ‘1923’
At the Los Angeles premiere of his latest thriller, “Drop,” Sklenar opened up about the poignant experience of filming the “1923” finale. Despite his busy schedule preventing him from viewing the episode, he expressed a deep connection to the project, stating, “I know it felt great to film it and it was emotional and I miss it. I miss it already.”
His co-star, Julia Schlaepfer, echoed similar sentiments, highlighting the profound impact the series had on its cast and audience alike.
Addressing Batman Casting Speculations
In light of recent speculations linking Sklenar to the role of Batman, the actor addressed these rumors with enthusiasm. He described the possibility as “literally a childhood dream,” indicating his openness to embracing such an iconic character.
“I mean, for Batman? [laughs] Let’s keep running with that! That’s something I’ve wanted to do since I was a little kid — and I’ve never even talked about it — It just started happening, and I was like, “This is cool!” And now, maybe, hopefully, it happens one day. I’d love to do it. It’s literally a childhood dream to do something like that, specifically that character. If I [were] ever to do any type of thing in the superhero space, that’s what it would be.”
While no official announcements have been made, Sklenar’s response suggests he would welcome the opportunity to explore this new dimension in his acting career.
Upcoming Projects
Following the conclusion of “1923,” Sklenar is set to appear in several new ventures. He stars alongside Meghann Fahy in “Drop,” a suspense thriller that promises to keep audiences on the edge of their seats.
The wait for the next Brandon Sklenar project won’t be as long as one might have expected, as the actor will be in the film Drop, which releases in theaters on April 11. Showtimes for Drop are already available, and ScreenRant’s review has given the film an 8/10 score, emphasizing Sklenar’s performance as one of the highlights. The movie also stars Meghann Fahy (The White Lotus). You can view the trailer below:
Will Brandon Sklenar Appear In Taylor Sheridan’s 1944 Yellowstone Prequel? Nothing Is Confirmed For 1944 Just Yet
1923 and Yellowstone itself may be over, but Taylor Sheridan isn’t letting up in expanding the franchise. One of Sheridan’s planned projects is 1944, another period prequel following the Duttons. Based on 1923’s ending, we know that Spencer Dutton will still be alive at this time, but there’s no confirmation that Brandon Sklenar will return for the role. The project would likely cast an older actor, though Sklenar could still potentially return to play his younger self in flashbacks. For now, viewers will have to hang tight on the possibility of a Spencer return.
