As previously stated, Yellowstone has turned into a hit TV series, drawing in viewers with its gripping storylines, intricate characters, and stunning scenery. But the popularity of the Dutton family and the world they live in has inspired more than one show. It has grown over time into a world of its own with various spin-offs going deeper into the lives of new and established characters. From prequels to spin-offs involving other generations, these programs delve into untold stories.

In this article, we’ll take a look at how many Yellowstone spin-offs are out there, including those already confirmed and the upcoming series we can expect to see in the future.

1) The Madison

The Madison is an upcoming Yellowstone spin-off that shifts the focus from the Dutton family to a new set of characters navigating life in the Madison River Valley, Montana. It follows Stacy Clyburn (played by Michelle Pfeiffer), a woman who relocates her family from New York City after the tragic deaths of her husband and brother-in-law in a plane crash.

While Pfeiffer has secured the main character, The Madison is incomplete without other cast members, including Patrick J. Adams, Elle Chapman, Matthew Fox, Beau Garrett, and more. As of now, there’s no exact release date for this spin-off, but it’s expected to come out late this year or early in 2026.

One of those is a sequel series that will focus on Beth Dutton (Kelly Reilly) and Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser) following the end of Yellowstone’s story. And it seems the show has been getting a new title and a thrilling production update. Originally just being called the Beth and Rip spinoff by clever media outlets, a new report from Bloomberg has revealed that the new series will now be coming under the title of Dutton Ranch and will follow a release schedule that will change up the usual format with the episodes premiering on Paramount Network and then streaming on Paramount+ the following day. This will be the first time this strategy has been used in the Yellowstone saga.

While there have been no plot details revealed about the series yet, it is expected to contain the usual Taylor Sheridan melodrama, character twists, and controversial moments that will have fans up in arms and swearing they are never watching the show again – until next week. Reilly and Hauser were confirmed to be reprising their respective roles as Beth and Rip, and will seemingly be having their next adventures on their new ranch in Montana, but what will befall them is a mystery for now.

3) 1944

The Dutton family saga continues with the 1944 prequel series, which will take viewers back to the time of World War II. This series takes place about two decades after the events of 1923 and around 15 years before the birth of John Dutton III, the protagonist of Yellowstone.

While the exact plot remains under wraps, it’s expected that this spin-off will explore historical events like the D-Day invasion and more. Spencer Dutton, the character introduced in 1923 and played by Brandon Sklenar, will be the primary focus of 1944.

His son, John Dutton II, who is the father of John Dutton III (Kevin Costner’s character in Yellowstone), will also be a key character, likely portrayed as a young adult. As for the release date, fans can expect this spin-off to come out next year.

4) 6666

The 6666 spinoff shifts the focus to the Four Sixes Ranch in Guthrie, Texas, with its cowboy heritage. The show will delve into the tough lives of cowboys rearing world-class cattle, merging human law and nature’s adversity. The storyline is likely to center on Jimmy Hurdstorm, who resumes his cowboy adventure at the Four Sixes with Emily, a vet tech. Teeter, a Yellowstone cast member is also likely to be part of the show, along with other familiar characters.

Production has been postponed because of the 2023 writers’ and actors’ strikes and the necessity to respect the ranch’s heritage. The show, originally scheduled for 2023, is now likely to debut in 2025 or beyond. The series will premiere on Paramount Network before streaming on platforms such as Paramount+. Fans are looking forward to more news as production resumes.
