Julie Chrisley Talks Behind-The-Scenes Of Infamous Hair Transition
Fans could not wait for Todd and Julie Chrisley to be released from prison. They wanted to see them sporting their natural looks, no hair color, and sans Botox. Todd has long colored her hair blonde and embraced facial procedures. The same went for his wife, Julie, but at the first post-release press conference, Todd looked better than ever. His gray locks were not seen for a very long time, and it appeared that the clock had stopped in jail. As for Julie, she was seen out with gray roots and brunette ends, not having a care in the world.
Todd admitted that when he first saw Julie and her natural hair, he was not happy. In fact, he was ready to go back to jail as he was that repulsed. Ultimately, Julie went back to blonde and was seen out at the local Target. However, she is now admitting that she never had any intentions of staying brunette. Her hairstylist was already on the horn to bleach her out the moment she came home:
“Tyler knew the moment that I was released — whether that was when it happened, thank goodness, or in ’26 when it would’ve happened — he was waiting and ready for me.”
So, Julie Chrisley always had the intentions of being blonde, but did not feel a rush or push to go back ASAP. She shared that she met some stylists behind bars who did her hair for her. It seems that no matter what color she was, she made sure to keep up with her appearance in some capacity. Many fans loved Julie as a brunette and applauded her natural look.

Viewers are getting a new side of the Chrisleys via their Lifetime series, Back to Reality. It is candid and raw, from before Todd and Julie Chrisley were pardoned to the moment they reunited. The goal was not to make it funny but rather true to their emotions. As for Julie’s blonde transformation, Todd detailed what she went through. He explained that their home became a salon for days to achieve Julie’s bright blonde locks. The brown hair was hard for Todd, mainly because he had never seen his wife as anything other than a blonde. Now, he seems very happy that she is back to herself and they can continue their lives together.
