‘Mama June’ Shannon Shared A Sad Video On Social Media
Fans have come to know “Mama” June and members of the Shannon family through various reality series. This includes Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, which was itself launched from appearances on Toddlers & Tiaras.
In 2017, the Shannon family became the focus of the WEtv series, Mama June. This series recently wrapped up its seventh season, airing the season finale “Sister Or Snitch?,” on July 25, 2025.
Through it all, fans have watched the family as they have gone to face various tragedies throughout their lives. Recently, June herself reshared an old video on Instagram, recounting one of the worst moments in her life.
June shared a confessional video from her namesake series, where she recounted her daughter Anna’s final moments. As fans know, Anna passed away on December 9, 2023, at the age of 29.
According to June, Anna “wanted me first thing this morning to call hospice, and that’s what I did. I moved mountains to get the doctors to finally sign off on hospice. And I think that was the best decision that she made.”
Fans Have Also Shared Their Own Words Of Sympathy To June Amid Her Share
As June noted, Anna wanted to be surrounded by family during her last days. In one shared moment, Anna even asked her mother to play music when she felt things were too quiet.
On the video, a caption was added, reading, “This was when we knew she was tired and finally accepted everything.” In a caption accompanying the video, June shared, “I have decided about one of the worst moments that I can remember having to make them phone calls, knowing that our body was tired knowing that it was coming to an end we all knew it, but I’m telling you you’re never ready when that time comes.”
Fans shared their reactions to the tragic moment on social media. A few also shared what it was like to watch the episode as it aired. Noting the pain of losing a child, these fans also shared their condolences and words of sympathy with June. Some comments included:
